Share: The family of former Iloilo City Mayor Jed Patrick Mabilog lambasted President Rodrigo Duterte over his latest threat against the alleged Visayan drug lord. The President, in a speech in Tarclac City on Wednesday, March 7, said: “Hindi na siya (Jed)umuwi kasi papatayin ko talaga siya.”
The family of former Iloilo City Mayor Jed Patrick Mabilog lambasted President Rodrigo Duterte over his latest threat against the alleged Visayan drug lord.
In an interview of local radio station Bombo Radyo Iloilo with Mrs. Maria Victoria ‘Marivic’ Mabilog, wife of Jed, she said that the threats of President Rodrigo Duterte must be ignored and even called it mentally-ill on air.
However, they’re felt unsafe because she believed that the President was unpredictable and really capable of killing people.
Jed flew abroad on August 31 last year. The following month, Marivic and their children also left the country due to security concerns.
She also believed that the President is only attacking Mabilog because Duterte only got few votes in Iloilo City.
This is the second time that Mrs. Mabilog attacked the President.
During Duterte’s visit at the wake of the slain OFW Joanna Demafelis, the former first lady of Iloilo couldn’t hide her anger against the President who visited their bailwick.
She dared former Davao City Vice Mayor Paolo Duterte to show his back tattoo to prove his innocence against the accusations that he’s allegedly a member of a big drug syndicate.
Mrs. Mabilog also said that despite of being abroad, her family would continue to expose the lies of the current administration.
Jed Mabilog is one of the alleged narcopoliticians who publicly announced by President Rodrigo Duterte.
He mentioned the former Iloilo mayor many times in his speeches and threatening him that he would be the ‘next’.
“The mayor of Iloilo City, I identified him. This was broadcast. I said, ‘You are next. You’re next,” ‘Duterte said.
Duterte also said that the house of Mabilog can be compared to a palace.
Mabilog was dismissed from his position by the Ombudsman because of ‘serious dishonesty’
Mabilog was accused of failing to properly account his sources of wealth as seen in his Statement of Assets Liabilities and Net worth (SALN).
Based on his SALN, Mabilog’s wealth increased by almost P9 million to P68,341,622.40 in 2013 from P59,358,539.89 in 2012 “due to his new real property and investments.”
Mabilog is still in abroad because of ‘health issues’.
Meanwhile, Malacanang urged Mabilog to come back to the country if he really wanted to clear his name.
“Kung gusto niyang linisin ang pangalan niya, umuwi siya dito at harapin ang mga bintang laban sa kaniya,” presidential spokesperson Harry Roque said.
“Pero habang siya (Mabilog) ay nagtatago, continuing evidence of guilt,”
